Topic: HIV/AIDS: Explain the need for Safety

HIV means Human Immune Deficiency Virus while AIDS means Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is a deadly disease that revenges human body system.

STD: Sexually Transmitted Disease. The terminal stage of HIV is AIDS.

WAYS OF TRANSMISSION OF HIV/AIDS FROM ONE PERSON TO ANOTHER.

They are:

  1. Sexual Intercourse with an infected person.
  2. Sharing of skin piercing instruments or objects like razor blade, needles or syringes.
  3. Through blood transfusion- transfusion from an infected unscreened blood to a patient.
  4. Transmission from an infected mother to the child.

WAYS WE CAN PREVENT HIV/AIDS.

  1. We should be careful when interacting with someone with an open wound.
  2. Total absent from sex (especially youths)
  3. Be faithful to your partner (married ones)
  4. Screening of blood before transfusion.
  5. Use of personal blades and clipper in hair and barbing saloon.
  6. Attending HIV/AIDS seminars and workshop.
  7. Listen to health talks.
