E- MAIL/MEMORANDUM
E-mail:
E-mail is a short form for electronic mail. It is a system for receiving, sending, and storing electronic messages. E-mail has become the preferred method for both personal and business communication.
Messages sent by electronic mail normally reach a recipient's account within seconds. A variety of mobile devices, such as computer, smart phone make it easy to send and receive E-mail messages.
Parts of an E- mail message:
From: The sender's E-mail address.
To: The receiver’s e- mail address
Cc: indicate other receiver's e mail address (Other people that will receive the message)
Subject: A phrase that focuses the reader's attention on the subject of the e- mail.
HOW TO SEND AN E-MAIL
1. Open your E-mail program and launch a new message window by clicking on the appropriate icon.
2. In the 'To' box, type the name of the recipient. Make sure you enter the address correctly or the message will return to you
3. Type the subject of the mail
4. Write your message
5. Click the send icon or select send from file menu.
MEMORANDUM:
A memorandum (also known as memo) is the primary correspondence document used within an organisation just as a letter is the principal correspondence used between organisations:
Design of memorandum:
A memorandum is typed either in single or in double line spacing. It may also be written by hand. There is no one accepted layout of a memorandum but layout depend upon the style adopted by the organisation.

Management has noticed with dismay that most staff come late to the office and leave their duty posts with impunity. With effect from 21th July, 2020, any employee who leaves his/her duty post without expressed permission shall be punished.

Features of memorandum:
1. A memorandum has no inside address.(address of the addressee)
2. It has no complementary close.
3. No salutation and most often.
4. The signature of the sender is omitted.
