WEEK 9: LIVING THINGS AND THEIR ACTIVITIES

LIVING THINGS AND THEIR ACTIVITIES.

Everything in the world is either a living thing or nonliving thing.Examples of living things are toads, cockroach, black ant, earthworm, grasshopper, hibiscus flower, water leaf, small snail butterfly, mango, beetle, grass, rat, maize, etc.Whereas examples of non living things are piece of broken glass, nylon paper, sweet wrapper, nail, piece of cloth, bottle cover, stone, rubber etc.

WEEK 8:FORCES

TOPIC: FORCES

We often relate the word force to strength’. You know that the stronger you are the more force you can produce and the heavier are the objects that you can move. By exerting a larger force, you can kick a football further, cycle faster, drag a heavier load or jump heigher. The unit of force is Newton (N), which was named in honor of the English physicist Isaac Newton.

Types of forces

There are three main types of forces, namely pull, push or turning force.

WEEK 3: The Earth in Space

TOPIC: The Earth in Space

The earth is a planet on which man and other living things naturally live. Scientists have not found living things in any other planet. The earth is spherical in shape and it is almost like a ball. Observations from space revealed that the earth is not stationary, rather it turns round while following a path called an orbit round the sun. The earth is called a planet because it revolves round the sun. By the use of satellites, robots and space vehicles, man has gained a lot of knowledge of the first nine planets discovered by man.
