(1)Listen to speeches attentively in order to identify a speaker’s style.
(2)Recognize and analyse the essential features of compound sentence.

*TOPIC: (a) Literacy skills-Writing for Communication Article Writing (popular articles for various reading audiences)
(b) Vocabulary Development: Spelling of commonly mis-spelt words and the use of the dictionary.
*SpecificObjective: By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
(1)Identify features of a newspaper article.
(2)Identify the differences in spelling of some words and how to use the dictionary.
WEEK 6
*TOPIC: (a) Grammar:- Complex Sentences
(b) Oracy skill:- Listening comprehension: listening to tell the meaning of words in content.
*SpecificObjective: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(1) Recognize and analyse the essential features and kinds of complex sentences.
(2) Identify the meaning of words in context.
*TOPIC:(1) Vocabulary Development :Synonyms as words with the same meaning.
(2) Reading Comprehension : Reading to make Notes
*Specific Objective : By the end of the lesson, students should be able to :
(1) Define synonyms and differenciate between words that are the same in meaning and words that are nearly the same in meaning.
WEEK 4
*TOPIC :( 1) Vocabulary Development: Antonyms
(2)Oracy Skills: Listening Attentively to Follow Directions Effectively
*Specific Objective: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(1)Define antonyms and differenciate between words exactly/nearly opposite in meaning.
(2)Define Directions; Identify words that indicate direction such as left turn, right turn, straight ahead, round about etc

3) Listening comprehension: listening to identify speaker’s mood, tone and purpose.
Specific objective: by the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
1) Identify the main points of the speech, irrelevant points and points of secondary importance
2) Discuss important aspects of other people’s religious beliefs
